ANNUAL DoD WORKING GROUP MEETING ON NONDESTRUCTIVE TESTING

Meeting of 48th Working Group on NDT to be held in Alexandria, Virginia

The annual meeting of engineers, scientists, technicians, and managers from all Command and DoD/Government activities that have the responsibility for development and/or application of nondestructive testing methods (including research, engineering, maintenance, and quality assurance) will be held this fall. The meeting is hosted alternately by the Air Force, Army, Navy, and DLA. This meeting has been found to serve as an excellent vehicle for the exchange of information among all activities, covering both problem solving and developments in NDT related technologies. This exchange has proven to be a very cost-effective way of avoiding duplication of effort, and provides ready access throughout the U.S. Government to NDE expertise for problem solving.

The 48th Defense Working Group on NDT is hosted this year by the Navy, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Division, Indian Head, MD and will be held 1-4 November 1999 at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites, Historic District, Alexandria, VA. It is expected that 200 representatives of the NDT community will attend.

The Working Group Steering Committee has placed a Call for Papers, including both formal and informal presentations of NDT technology problems and/or solutions. Problems, especially those encountered by the technicians in the field are actively being sought.

The Working Group sessions are restricted to U.S. Government military and civilian personnel; appropriate identification will be required.

Non-government organizations that are performing specific NDT projects are invited to present technical and/or problem solution papers. The non-government presenters will not be allowed to attend any other portions of the meetings and will be restricted within the meeting area.
