OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:
1. To acquire and report accurate data for monitoring machinery condition using more than one Predictive Technology:
a. Non Destructive Testing (NDT) Inspection, to incl. magnetic particle, (MPI), liquid penetrant (LPI), ultrasonic testing (UT), Eddy Current (EC), industrial Radiography (RT), hardness testing, black light inspection, video fiberscope.
b. Non Destructive Testing (NDT) Measurement & monitoring, to incl. Strain gauge, Acoustic Emission, Torque monitoring, Flow monitoring, Material characterization and sub-surface inspection.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Maintain “Advanced” skills and competencies for more than one Predictive Technology.
2. “Advanced” use of predictive technologies to diagnose and solve equipment and process problems.
3. “Advanced” use of CMMS to monitor and update the status of work.
4. Develop and implement ICMS condition indicators and failure modes.
5. Monitor, update and respond to the status of work in CMMS.
6. Identify training and development needs for self and others. Mentor and coach others.
7. Maintain a network of internal and external contacts to improve knowledge base and stay abreast of new technology.
8. Provide input into the assessment of group or team behavior, support change and the TASTE model of behavior.
9. Support project teams.

*** “Advanced” means an approved “Level Two” certification. (CGSB)
Skills:
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. 2 or 3 year community college diploma or engineering degree in a technical discipline. (chemical, environmental, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, fluid power).
2. 3-5 years of relevant work experience is required.
3. CGSB Level Two certification MPI, LPI, UT, RT
4. Trade certifications. (Mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, fluid power) is desirable, but not necessary.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
1. Mechanical aptitude and basic knowledge of skilled trades. (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, fluid power).
2. Good knowledge of specific trades. (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, fluid power).
3. Good working knowledge of software programs such as Microsoft Office, Word, Power Point, and Excel.
4. Good working knowledge of CMMS, condition monitoring software.
5. Basic knowledge of process automation technology.
6. Basic knowledge of Quality Control tools and processes and the Dofasco Quality System.
7. Good knowledge of steelmaking and finishing processes.
