Job Description:


The NDT technician is part of a team that provides UT support to the steel fabrications assembly group.

The team performs in-stream process audits to validate cast and fabricated structures per weld engineering and manufacturing specifications.

Magnetic particle (wet/dry) and liquid penetrate inspection occasionally required.

The technician would be based from the local Metallurgical Testing Laboratory.

Job Requirements:

Individuals must possess ANST -Level II certification and 1-2 years experience with ultrasonic inspection of welded structures.

Experience should include but not be limited to porosity, fusion, depth, and crack characterization.

Qualified individuals will have experience interpreting engineering drawings and following written audit guidelines.

Group is seeking person with good communication and teamwork skills, and ability to support a high velocity-manufacturing department.

Individual must have basic computer skills including MSWord, Excel, and ability to learn shop SPC system. Technician must also possess a high school degree; associates preferred.

Exposure to metallurgy or materials science concepts and ISO 9001/17025 preferred.

Applicants having experience with Krautkramer USN 52-series ultrasonic units a plus! Past experience maintaining units or repairing and making transducer cables a plus!
