Howmet Georgetown Casting – A Division of Alcoa
The Howmet Aluminum Group develops and produces nonferrous investment castings. Its principal business is the engineering, production and marketing of high-quality aluminum investment castings for the aerospace industry's electronic packaging, electro-optical devices, airframe and engine structures.

We are currently recruiting for the following position.

Title: LPI and Level II X-Ray
Reports to: Quality Manager

Job Description:

This position is primarily responsible for processing castings using established techniques through the LPI department.

This position is also responsible for for verifying the quality of the manufactured products and ensuring that all products are free of defects.


Typical job duties for LPI

• Verifies proper routing by reviewing route card information.
• Moves castings through the process steps.
• Is responsible for maintaining tolerances to customer specifications during process steps.
• Is responsible for matching correct routing card to correct casting at the end of process steps.
• Replenishes appropriate chemicals from supply to process tanks.
• Cross trained in a variety of areas throughout the facility.

Typical job duties for X-Ray

• Contacts Level III & Quality Manager to inform of problems on specific parts
• Establishes techniques to ensure the efficiency of the controlled product
• Interprets visual indicators and documents results
• Calibrates equipment
• Conducts tests
• Applies testing criteria as per existing norms and specifications and evaluates the results
• Compiles the results of the tests and prepares reports
• Provides on-the-job coaching to X-ray Level I employees
Skills:
• Capable of performing relatively complex tasks
• Ability to understand quality control requirements
• Demonstrates an aptitude to eventually obtain a level II certification
• Capable of reading specifications and blueprints from our clients
• Ability to do preparation, tests and calibration
• Respects product criteria based on Customer requirements
• Capable of reading specifications from our clients
• Respects product criteria based on Customer requirements
• Ability to work with computers
• Ability to read and interpret detailed mechanical and assembly drawings, and process specifications
• Ability to measure within close tolerances and provide reports as required by inspection and test plans
• Ability to determine whether parts should be forwarded to next process or returned for more rework or scrapped
