Direct Hire Corrosion Technician-Sterlington, LA - Prefer Lousiana resident within 100 mile radius.
CORROSION TECHNICIAN
Manage daily activities related to corrosion control for the Sterlington/West Monroe areas, involving (but not limited to) all facets of cathodic protection; involving data acquisition, interpretation, and associated corrections / repairs for the same.
Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, NACE Corrosion Technician certification, 3+ years corrosion experience on pipeline operating systems, strong knowledge of CP technology and systems, and strong knowledge of internal corrosion control systems and practices. Also required is DOT 192 knowledge and experience, solid computer skills, effective communication skills, strong critical thinking and problem solving skills, and the ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects with minimal supervision.
Physical requirements of this position include the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet, to operate valve control wheels with a minimum of 50 turns, to work in outside conditions including hot, cold, muddy and wet environments, and to stand for long durations. Qualified candidates will also have the ability to operate a motor vehicle, a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
