Direct Hire Opportunity for a Senior Tooling Engineer in Houston Texas.
Job Duties: Design & develop threading tooling to machine tubular products. This is not a 'machinist' position, but a Tooling Design Engineer. MUST HAVE - Design experience. Threading tooling includes threading inserts, boring bars, boring heads, roughing and finish tooling, holders, machining fixtures, chuck jaws, etc. Organize tooling information to be clearly available to the manufacturing plants. Work closely with custom tooling manufactuers to ensure maximum performance of tooling
Develop tooling and machining processes to reduce machining time. Work with CNC programmers, equipment manager, manufacturing engineers, and manufacturing plants on developing better and more reliable machining processes

Requirements: 10 years of experience on machining operations. 2 years of experience on CNC machining operations. 5 years of experience as a tooling engineer
5 years of experience on selection and design of threading inserts, boring bars, boring heads, lathe jaws and machining fixtures. 5 years of experience on design of tooling with Autocad, Unigraphics or similar drafting software. Detailed technical knowledge of machining parameters. 4 year engineering degree
Excellent verbal and writing communication skills
Desirable: Experience on editing CNC programs, setting up lathes, machining tubular products and troubleshooting ovality and chatter issues
5 years of experience on selection and design of threading inserts, boring bars, boring heads, lathe jaws and machining fixtures. 5 years of experience on design of tooling with Autocad, Unigraphics or similar drafting software.
