The Field Machinist will make repairs to client equipment while it is on site and in-place. The keys to success in this position are the desire to work in a fast paced environment where each job presents unique challenges and the ability to work as part of a team.
Skills:
Minimum 4 years technical, field experience in machining. Excellent troubleshooting skills required. 25% travel required

• Ability to think in 3D in order to build jigs, and attach equipment to perform pipe cuts, resurfacing, bevels, and flange facing.
• Begins and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls as required.
• Must be able to select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
• Understanding of materials, cutting tools, speeds and feeds, coolant requirements and machining as well as machining techniques.
• Knowledgeable of cutting tools, feeds and speeds, coolant requirements and machining techniques.
• Ability to Machine from prints and create from sample items.
• Apply mechanical skills and related knowledge in the testing, trouble-shooting, teardown/rebuilding, and repairing of mechanical/machinery equipment in a refinery or other industrial setting.
• Ability to calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth and angle of cut, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
• Study blueprints, drawings and manuals to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and set up requirements.
• Measure and mark dimensions and reference points as guides.
• Experience with mills, lathes, boring bars, and grinders.
• Calculate and regulate machine controls.
• OT varies by assignment
• Must be able to perform physically-active assignments
