Job Description:

Responsibilities

* Maintain the quality system as established by the Quality System Manual.
* Participate in the development and implementation of the quality Area Instructions, audit the quality system for effectiveness.
* Assist in the development of Department targets, goals, and quality cost data.
* Assist in vendor and customer survey and surveillance programs.
* Provide administration and leadership in the Department quality audits and corrective action programs.
* Assign, prepare, assist, and perform the periodic audits and reporting.
* Administer follow-up and corrective action plans.
* Administer the Quality Management form system and control stamps for the quality system.
* Develop new concepts, ideas, and methods to improve activity and take initiative on items within sphere of activity.
* Provide safe conditions as identified by Department safety policies on new and existing facilities and correct unknown safety hazards.

Qualifications

* Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college (or high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in a manufacturing or shop environment).
* At least 3 additional years of experience in heavy machinery manufacturing and quality system planning.

Desired

* Strong oral and written communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
* Expertise in Quality Control concepts and their application.
* Bachelors of Science in Engineering preferred.
* Ultrasonic and X-Ray NDT Level 3 certification or significant experience, including experience working with and/or managing Level 2 technicians.
* ISO Internal Auditor Trained
* FAA DMIR/DAR Certified
* Experience as a Special Process Certifying Agent
* Experience as an Ultrasonic and X-Ray Level 2 NDT technician
* Experience with Valysis programming

General

Supervise team of Level 2 NDT technicians and lab personnel, including administration of time and attendance, discipline and daily oversight. Oversee calibration program. Train exempt and non-exempt employees in quality procedures and audit methodology. Maintain quality system certifications (i.e. ISO, FAA, etc.)

Provide Level 3 Ultrasonic and X-Ray support to the Composites business within APO, including, but not limited to, certifying the processes and products processed through those operations, inspecting the Level 2 work, providing direction to the Level 2 technicians, delivering training and certifying new personnel on the processes and equipment used in the Ultrasonic and X-Ray testing, and ensuring compliance with all EHS rules and regulations.
