Job Description:

· Primary duties will be Nondestructive inspection (NDI) of composite and metal bond assemblies, utilizing both A-Scan and C-Scan test equipment. The individual shall have the knowledge and skills to set up tests, calibrate equipment, conduct tests and to interpret, evaluate and document test results in accordance with approved procedures. The individual shall be familiar with the scope and limitations of the method, and shall be familiar with standards and specifications utilized by HBC. The Level II shall be capable of directing the work of trainees and Level I personnel in the technique/method in which they are certified and shall be capable of developing written techniques to be submitted for Level III for approval.

Prolonged employment will require the candidate to obtain a NAS 410 Level II ultrasonic certification within 12 months of hire and demonstrate acceptable progress during this time period. This process includes:

A minimum 40 questions closed book written examination on general principals of NDI using ultrasound

A minimum 30 questions closed book written examination on specific knowledge of specifications, codes, equipment, procedures, and techniques utilized at HBC in ultrasonic applications

A practical examination consisting of a demonstration of proficiency by the candidate in the use of the procedures, equipment and materials, along with the adherence to procedures, evaluation and documentation of results.

A composite test score of 80% is required with a minimum of 70% for any single exam

Obtain 80 hours of off-the-job formal class room training

Desired Skills:

· Experience in NDI Ultrasonics and EddyCurrent test methods

· Knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing methods

· Technical writing capability

· Aviation inspection experience

· Completed college course work

· Knowledge of industry quality practices and standards

· Knowledge of aircraft quality practices and standards

· Knowledge of metal bond fabrication processes

· Knowledge of composite fabrication processes

· Organizational skills

· Ability to work in cross functional teams

· Second party certifications such as AWS, ASQ and ASNT

High School Diploma required
