Within 20 to 30 mile radius of Greenville, IL, candidate must travel to various customer facilities daily. Ovenight travel may be required.

Under general supervision, independently executes the timely completion of assigned work orders and other Inspection Center projects by analyzing scope and determining requirements, evaluating complex product and systems to establish requirements and preparing reports. Maintains the integrity of the UL Mark by conducting various product, device, process, system and material inspections at various site and factory locations to ensure that they are produced and marked in compliance with various applicable technical requirements. Assists in the promotion, marketing and selling of new and existing UL services. Works with internal and external customers to resolve technical and administrative issues.

Able perform Field and Factory evaluations of fire apparatus approx. 10% using NDT skills set of Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant, Visual and Ultrasonic testing methods. Perform NFPA certification testing on Ground Ladders and Pumpers and will be trained on Certifying Aerial Devices (including aerial component weldment inspection).

Skills:
Some University education (Equivalent to a U.S. Associate’s Degree) in Applied Science plus generally two years of related work experience.
ASNT Level II Certification in MT, VT, UT and / or PT a plus.
Previous certification to ASNT CP 189 or SNT-TC-1A in any of the above four methods is a plus.
Must be able to work in confined spaces, must be able to lift at least 70lbs.
Candidate must meet vision requirements as listed in ASNT CP 189.
Candidate must possess a strong mechanical aptitude and technical ability.
Possess a strong understanding of software applications, such as Lotus Notes, Excel, Word, and Powerpoint. Be comfortable with the use of a laptop computer.
Basic knowledge of third-party certification inspection processes
Working knowledge of the technical vocabulary common to the appropriate discipline
Demonstrated ability to identify and manage priorities
Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with clients and staff at all levels.
