Sr. Manufacturing Engineer – metal finishing, electroplating, powder coating

A well known division of a major corporation located in the Raleigh, North Carolina area, has a great opportunity for a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer with plating or powder coating experience. They offer a good relocation, great benefits and 15% incentive program with payouts each quarter. Their facility is expanding operations and increasing production volumes. This non-automotive OEM is a team orientated Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement plant with many long term employees. The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer will function as a lead engineer, coordinating and directing other engineers leading and managing multiple projects. This position will focus on quality improvements and cost reductions to existing products utilizing a working knowledge of various materials, manufacturing techniques and engineering practices. Knowledge of plating processes, chemical mixing, chemical balancing, racking systems, electrical discharge and mechanical systems is a must. Strong problem solving skills and past experience solving consistency and adherence issues is preferred. Candidates will need the ability to guide and direct maintenance technicians and ensure PM’s are performed. Evaluate and investigate design change request from internal / external sources, taking action and making changes which will improve product quality, reliability, manufacturability and cost. Past experience developing and implementing work instructions, procedures and training programs is preferred.

MUST HAVE: 5 years plus in electroplating operations. Knowledge of various chemicals and material used in the plating process along with a 4 year chemical engineering or technical degree. Supervision and leadership experience is a plus.
