Welding Manufacturing Engineer – laser welding, fixturing, process development, automation
Located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, this international company is adding a new product line and is searching for a Laser Welding Engineer. The Manufacturing Engineer will support the automated laser welding, test and assembly area. Interested candidates will need 4 plus years of laser welding, process development, project management, product launch and design experience. Knowledge of fixture design, tooling and automated systems is required. Past experience working with vendors and suppliers is a must. The Manufacturing Engineer will manage projects to identify, develop, design and purchase welding equipment, robotics, automation, assembly, testing and fixturing. Knowledge of metallurgy, temperature requirements, weld angles, pre weld requirements and testing processes is a must. Candidates will need a 4 year degree and direct laser welding process development experience. The ability to demonstrate past experience developing processes and completing major projects is a huge plus.
