Our client provides state-of-the-art ultrasonic (UT) and radiographic (RT) pipeline weld inspection capabilities in the oil and gas service sector.

This is a key position with the company, reporting to the Global Operations Manager.CANDIDATES MUST CURRENTLY RESIDE IN SCOTLAND.

The position will be based in Glasgow or Edinburgh.

Primary Activities

--Developing new procedures and assisting in the development of alternative acceptance requirements.
--Maintaining complex databases of inspection related information for worldwide operations.
--Producing inspection solutions on short notice to satisfy special customer requirements. (Frequent).
--Assisting in the development and implementation of new inspection technologies.
--Designing new inspection techniques for applications where no historical information is available.
--Selecting the optimum technology methods to service market needs.
--Selecting the correct approach to inspection methodology.

Deliverables

--Provide operational solutions using current technology (Iport and Wisetrack)
--Responsible for the development of new inspection methods (NDE).
--Responsible for the primary ultrasonic procedure development and configurations for all girth weld projects.
--Acts as project manager for select new product development projects.
--Consults with customers to develop inspection specifications and procedures.
Skills:
REQUIREMENTS:

--MUST BE CURRENTLY LIVING IN SCOTLAND
--ASNT Level III certification in UT.
--Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Material Science preferred.
--7 Plus years experience in oil and gas.
