Our Company is currently providing an opportunity for an Austenitic Ultrasonic (AUT) Operator within our Quality/NDT Department. Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful candidate will be working from the Mount Hayes LNG Peak Shaving Facility Project Site near Nanaimo, BC and be responsible for inspection, scanning and evaluation of all AUT welds, completion of safety and quality inspections, and maintaining relationships between client and project team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Performing, evaluating, and compiling all AUT scan data and reports of 9%Ni welds for project team and client
• Completion of daily safety and quality inspections of assigned work areas
• Maintenance and updating of all AUT related documents, including equipment, personnel, and QA logs
• Visual inspection of weld joint profiles and reporting/coordinating of repairs
• Ensuring AUT crew is adequately prepared and qualified to complete assigned activity requests and are trained on proper usage of equipment
• Providing instruction of NDE procedures and standards to AUT work group
• Working with project team to minimize wastage of consumables and equipment
• Attending and presenting project updates at daily job start meetings
• Presenting at toolbox safety meetings on AUT and NDE related topics

Skills:
The successful candidate will have:

• Ability to work from the project site, located near Nanaimo, BC
• 5 years or more experience as an Ultrasonic Testing Operator
• 3 years or more certification as an Ultrasonic Testing Technician – Level II CAN/CGSB-48.9712/IOS 9712
• Qualified as NDE (MT/PT) – Level I CAN/CGSB-48.9712/ISO 9712
• 1 or more years experience performing Ultrasonic Testing on Austenitic materials
• Experience in operation of both semi and fully automated Ultrasonic Testing Equipment
• Extensive construction experience, preferable in oil and gas or refining projects.
• Demonstrated problem solving ability skills, including identification of feasible/logical solutions in the absence of procedures or limited guidelines
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
