Position Description
The Inspector is legally responsible for all aspects of his clients inspection programs when out in the field doing inspection for a client and this includes dealings with ABSA on behalf of the client, inspection reporting, helping with the writing of client OUP programs, client meetings, signing off on all necessary legal documentation on behalf of the client and inspection planning.
Responsibilities:
Making contact with field operators to coordinate field inspections, gathering inspection data in order to complete field inspections and reporting in a timely manner
Working closely with Chief Inspectors to set up client inspection plans on a yearly and monthly basis in conjunction with the client
REMS planning short term on doing field inspections and responsible for all repairs and sign-off at inspection sites if legal and senior enough to do so
Perform inspections as assigned by the Chief Inspector or Inspection Coordinator to the RAE Engineering standard
Responsible for all inspection related reports: FUR, NCR (opening and closing dates in), and progress reports (client dependent), inspection reports if and when required to do so and in junction with client Chief Inspector
Responsible for following up on FURs and NCRs and other recommendations that he/she has written to ensure completion of that inspection job
Responsible for ensuring all data including PSVs are obtained to complete the job
Contact with client to ensure correct installation of equipment and subsequent inspections. All this would be done in conjunction with and knowledge of the Chief Inspector
Assist in the audit process of clients sub-contractors when needed
Assist with internal audits (as per client manual) when needed
Helping with setting up and writing client OUP programs when needed
Assist technical assistants with information gathering in order to keep ABSA client data up to date
Correct and professional contact and conduct with clients in all aspects of completing projects and inspections for clients. Client communication may include planning, telephone calls, e-mails, memos, inspection reports, summary and technical reports.
Skills:
Self starter, good work ethic with a positive personality
Good computer knowledge MS Office Suite
Good knowledge of field inspections, reporting and client inspection programs
Ability to work with field operators
Good communication and interpersonal skills written and verbal
Ability to work with colleagues in a co-operative manner
Strong organization skills and attention to detail
Previous experience in oil and gas related services an asset
Must posses API 653 qualification
Must have NACE CIP (peer level) certification
