· The NDI Level II primary duties will be Nondestructive inspection (NDI) of composite and metal bond assemblies, utilizing both A-Scan and C-Scan ultrasonic test equipment.

· The individual shall have the knowledge and skills to set up tests, calibrate equipment, conduct tests and to interpret, evaluate and document test results in accordance with approved procedures.

· The individual shall be familiar with the scope and limitations of the method, and shall be familiar with standards and specifications utilized in the NDI industry.

· The Level II shall be capable of directing the work of trainees and Level I personnel in the technique/method in which they are certified and shall be capable of developing written techniques to be submitted for Level III for approval.

· The candidate shall attach documented evidence of previous training, experience and certification to their resume. These documents shall include:

o Name of the individual certified

o Level, method, and techniques for which individual is certified

o Date and expiration of certification(s)

o A summary of all previous NDT certifications

o Training history which identifies source, type of training, dates of training and course hours

o Experience history, including any previous certifications, both with current and previous employers sufficient to justify satisfaction of experience requirements for certification

o Extent and documentation of formal education, when used to meet qualification requirements

oThe name and signature of the employer’s representative authorizing the certification

· Prolonged employment will require the candidate to obtain a NAS 410 Level II ultrasonic certification within 3 months of hire and demonstrate acceptable progress during this time period. This process includes:

o A minimum 40 questions closed book written examination on general principals of NDI using ultrasound

o A minimum 30 questions closed book written examination on specific knowledge of specifications, codes, equipment, procedures, and techniques utilized at Hawker Beechcraft in ultrasonic applications

o A practical examination consisting of a demonstration of proficiency by the candidate in the use of the procedures, equipment and materials, along with the adherence to procedures, evaluation and documentation of results.

o A composite test score of 80% is required with a minimum of 70% for any single exam

·Experience in NDI Ultrasonics

·Knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing methods

·Technical writing capability

·Aviation inspection experience

·Knowledge of industry quality practices and standards

·Knowledge of aircraft quality practices and standards

·Knowledge of metal bond fabrication processes

·Knowledge of composite fabrication processes

·Ability to work in cross functional teams

Required education:

Minimum: High School Diploma and documented 80 hours of formal education in the ultrasonic test method.

Preferred education:

A.A.S. in NDI
