Scope of the SERVICE:

The scope of the SERVICE consists in:

As Drilling Superintendent - Deep Water, the job holder is responsible for managing the operations of COMPANY drilling unit (Drill ship). He is responsible for managing all rig operations. Paramount to this is the HSE aspects. However, his role also is to involve and ensure that all company resources (eg. Completion, Fluids, Subsea, etc.) and contractor resources are utilised to optimise the operation, resolve any potential problems and ensure the operations are performed as safely, efficiently and effectively as possible

This SERVICE encompasses mainly the following activities:

The job holder is in charge to:
-Manage offshore operations and provide technical support for all rig operations
-Manage onshore support and technical support for all rig operations, including Logistics (FCP & LOG), HSE, Subsea, Completion, engineering, etc;
-Report, investigate and ensure all anomalies, incidents are highlighted and closed out. Ensure FCP manager & FCP/MTH are informed of all anomalies & in particular incidents;
-Identify and promote HSE programs on the drilling unit. This is in association with the RSES & FCP/MTH and where HSE initiatives are required to prevent escalation of potential anomalies into incidents;
-Ensure company (Total) rules (including HSE procedures and policies) are followed and applied to all operations or request derogations as necessary;
-Ensure company local (TEPA) rules procedures are followed (drilling & completion programs GDCP, SIMOPS, JDM, etc.)
-Review, assist in preparing and validate Technical Drilling & Completion programs;
-Ensure the technical documents (JDM, etc.) are validated and “live” for the specific unit.
-Provide onshore technical expertise and support to resolve practical problems and minimise non-productive time ;
-Be leader in the event his drilling unit is involved in an emergency. Take every decision in case of emergency to guarantee the safety of all persons involved, the well, the other TOTAL related assets and the environmental protection ;
-In the case of simultaneous operation, to liaise with other TOTAL onshore Departments ensuring effective and comprehensive coordination of ongoing and upcoming work and all required documentation and procedures are in place well in advance of the SIMOPS;
-Coordinate Drilling Contractor & service company personnel to ensure that they provide their support functions effectively, efficiently and safely as possible.
-Validate (and sign) all job tickets as approved by the RSES. Ensure each is documented with the local monitoring system;
-Ensure QA/QC control of all consumables and materials shipped, ensure the control is performed well in advance of shipment and equipment requested conforms with the specifications required;
-Manage adequate operational feedback, ensure technical reports on drilling and experienced well problems are prepared in a timely manner and communicated to other units to prevent their reoccurrence and to enhance well operation performance ;
-Plan all activities and needs in coordination with the RSES and the services companies ;
-Ensure the quality control of the reporting issued from the rig including the daily well cost estimate in timely manner ;
-On call / duty 24 hrs other than when supported by duty manager;
-Prepare or assist as required in evaluation of specific tenders including drilling rigs, service contracts especially operational related aspects of tenders;
-Ensure all personnel training is up to date and valid and manage / ensure an adequate training is provided to the personnel under his responsibility


Skills:
REQUIRED SKILLS for the execution of the SERVICE

This position primarily requires an extensive knowledge of offshore drilling and completion operations.

Minimum 15 years experience, at drilling supervisory level with international exposure comprising at least 5 years as Senior Supervisor (RSES) is mandatory. Holding valid IWCF well control certificate and RSES training.

Good interpersonal skills and organisational ability are also required.
