NDT Technician

We are currently seeking an NDT Technician to work 2nd shift for our Alabama site.

JOB OVERVIEW:
To perform nondestructive testing and interpretation of composite and honeycomb bonded materials to assure the production of quality products.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Perform nondestructive testing to verify the structural integrity of laminate composite structures and honeycomb bonded and cocured structures, using conventional and automated/robotic ultrasonic testing systems.

2. Set up and perform such tests prescribed per NDT procedures and analyze NDT data per quality requirements.

3. Collect, interpret, and evaluate the data relative to engineering or project requirements.

4. Perform qualitative or quantitative tests using standard or specialized equipment and instruments and issue reports as required.

5. Must be prepared to work 2nd shift.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

1. Associates degree of applied science in nondestructive testing or five years of equivalent experience.
2. Must have successfully completed 80 hours of documented formal classroom training in ultrasonics.
3. Must have successfully completed 1600 hours of documented on the job training in ultrasonics.
4. Must satisfactorily complete the GKN certification examination for Level II in ultrasonics within one month.
5. Must possess good working knowledge of PC based systems and software.
6. Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
7. Prefer candidates with a working knowledge of automated/robotic nondestructive testing systems.
