SUMMARY
Lead the Shop Quality department. Supervise and coordinate inspection/quality related activities in the Manufacturing and Repair facilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintenance of qualification and certification documents such as qualifications, examinations, test samples, certification records, etc.;
• Shall have the overall responsibility for the administration and grading of examinations, to verify physical and technical qualifications, and the certification of all Level I and II personnel;
• Shall have the skills and knowledge to interpret codes, standards and other contractual documents that control the methods as utilized;
• Able to select the method and technique for a specific inspection and prepare and verify the adequacy of procedures;
• Approve and/or develop procedures for technical adequacy in the method in which they are certified;
• Conducting and/or direct the training and examination of personnel in the method certified;
• Maintain records of Inspection and Welding personnel including, but not limited to, test results, certifications, experience hours logged, previous training/certifications, verification of previous training/certifications, on-the job training, competency and cross training;
• Verify and document previous certifications for new personnel;
• Participate in the interview of perspective Inspection personnel and offer input for personnel annual reviews;
• Possess current Level III certification in UT, PT, RT as minimum;
• Possess the ability to be certified Level III within one year from date of hire in multiple inspection disciplines currently in use at;
• Process Improvement;
• Cover all NDT fields including VT, PT, MT, RT, ET, UT, TT;
• Travel as required and perform field inspections;
• Perform visual acuity and color vision examinations;
• Perform other such duties as may be required.

4.0 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION

• Education and/or Experience: Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and current Level III certification; or five years NDE Level II certification and current Level III certification..
• Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Computer Skills: Basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, etc.
Skills:
Must possess Level III certifications in UT, MT, PT and VT.

AA degree preferred but not required.
