This position has responsibility for directing and controlling the quality and technical functions (within their assigned NDT areas) for compliance to internal and customer specifications. This involves overseeing inspections, training, personnel; performing audits, reviewing scrap, maintaining documentation, and acting as primary focal point for internal and external communication in their assigned area(s). This job contributes to the plants overall performance by directing and controlling the NDT processes for compliance to the customer’s specifications.
Essential responsibilities include:
Establishes and maintains training and certifications programs for processors and inspectors that comply with all customer requirements.
Processes castings through various inspections per established customer-specified procedures and/or writes inspection procedures to meet customer requirements.
Inspects castings to customer specification as required.
Controls inspections through specification required tests and procedures. Maintains associated documentation.
Trains, provides technical support to, and audits inspectors to assure consistent quality and specification compliance.
Manages departmental materials and equipment to meet production requirements.

Skills:
Basic Qualifications-
BS in a technical field or equivalent experience.
3-5 years NDT Level III experience; aerospace experience a plus.
Must meet all requirements of Level II position and possess Level III certification to NAS-410.
Preferred Qualifications-
Thorough knowledge of all aspects of NDT inspection.
Sound knowledge of Quality systems.
Ability to communicate with inspectors on all shifts and keep records of results.
Ability to work with minimum supervision. Independent judgment is required. Step into supervisory role as needed/required.
Understanding of lean manufacturing practices.
Self-starter; ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Must pass annual Jaeger vision exam.
Requires travel and overtime with short notice.
