Applus RTD, a world leader in Non Destructive Testing and Inspection Services is currently interviewing for an Operations Manager for the Detroit, Michigan area.
The Operations Manager is responsible for motivating, directing, and evaluating the staff. They also will provide the planning, organization, direction, coordination and control of all activities. The Operations Manager is responsible for location budgeting, meeting of cost and productivity goals, and related performance goals as established by the President. Other activities included in the startup of a new office will be required to include performance of call out work until additional staff is hired.

The Operations Manager is responsible for motivating, directing, and evaluating the staff. They also will provide the planning, organization, direction, coordination and control of all activities. The Operations Manager is responsible for location budgeting, meeting of cost and productivity goals, and related performance goals as established by the President. Other activities included in the startup of a new office will be required to include performance of call out work until additional staff is hired.
Skills:
- Must have extensive experience in NDT methods
- Level II UT, MT Inspection capabilities
- Must have an Associate Degree from an accredited institution with concentration in a Technical or Engineering Discipline.
- Requires 5 years minimum experience in positions of increasing responsibility in the safety engineering field, technical operations or manufacturing environments providing solutions to the commercial marketplace, to industrial clients, to governmental bodies, and to institutional organizations.
- Must have excellent communication skills, mathematic abilities, and reasoning abilities. Abilities must include being able to develop and interpret an Operations Budget and forecast operational support needs based on sales forecasts and budgets. Must be able to monitor and measure performance results against forecast and budget.
- Travel is required, both to client sites and for business travel.
