Position is field assignment for the visual inspection of piping and related mechanical equipment.

Priority is given to candidates who are local to the Corpus Christi/Ingleside, TX area.

CANDIDATE SHALL HAVE:

As a minimum, Level II VT weld inspection OR an active AWS CWI.

IF INTERESTED: Forward all education, OJT and previous certifications for review and verification.

Candidate must pass background check and drug test prior to hiring. NO MOBILIZATION OR DEMOBILIZATION IS AVAILABLE.

Understanding of and have experience with ASME B31.1 and B31.3, plus API.

Understanding of hydrotest and prehydro completeness, plus restoration capabilities.


PRIMARY DUTIES:

VT, DIRECT –

To ensure material and weld quality by means of Visual Weld Examination for all project piping systems.

Responsible for the evaluation of surface areas for the evaluation of bevel edges, root and hot passes, final weld and repair excavations, as specified by code or customer specifications.

Perform VT Mechanical inspections for all project piping systems.

Perform daily process controls, calibration checks and maintain accurate records (logs) per quality program requirements.

Attend daily safety talks and be actively involved in KOS safety program requirements.

Extreme housekeeping and proper cleanliness are essential for safe operations.

Troubleshoot and solve any issues that may arise with fitups and welding of project piping.

Work with project team to keep inspection group well supplied with all necessary materials and equipment in proper working condition.

Maintain written reporting of piping inspections on a daily basis.
Skills:
Skills: Materials/Skills Utilized:
1. General hand tools and specific VT equipment.
2. Quality measuring equipment and gauges relating to visual inspections.
3. Applicable codes and customer specifications relating to quality mandates, accept/reject criteria and written instructions or procedures.
5. Use all error reduction and safety skill.

Qualifications:
Level II candidates shall provide all evidence and have the ability to achieve Level II certification upon hiring.
Level II candidates shall meet the criteria specified within SNT-TC-1A and the KOS written practice.

All CWI certifications shall be current and in good standing.
