JOB DESCRIPTION

Continue to develop and improve companies’ quality control program
Develops, enhances and implements project plans ensuring improvements to
current processes are enacted in a timely manner
Develop monthly and quarterly reports for management and clients
Management of Quality Control personnel working in the industrial construction
fields using ASME code Section I, IX, B31.1, 2, 3 AWS code D1.1, D3 and API-
650 and 653.

Ensures compliance with all company NDE Procedures, Welding Procedures and
Welding Qualification requirements

Evaluate bid proposals ensuring code compliance; identify impact and
evaluating effect on budget a schedule

Meet with clients advising on various issues and situations

Manage outside NDE firms and evaluate quotes and proposals for accuracy

Manage and plan various training programs for welder operators, Field
Superintends and in-house quality control inspectors

Welder parameter tracking and defect analysis; including root cause and
reporting

Preparing and presenting information as representative of the Quality
Department at pre-job meetings

Assists the Chief Operating Officer, General Manager and Company President
with annual operating budget relating to quality assurance

Reports to the Chief Operating Officer and Company President

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

o Ability to analyze and interpret complex business documents
o Ability to motivate others to desired action as individual or as a group
o Ability to respond effectively and rapidly to sensitive or complex issues
involving clients, co-workers or management
o Read and interpret blueprints and working drawings.
o Previous experience or knowledge (either design or hands on), of
structural forms, such as Tanks, Pressure Vessels, Piping, Environmental,
Petroleum Refining and Power Generation Components is required for
o Must have strong knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, and alloy
welding and engineering requirements.
o Working knowledge of troubleshooting and problem solving techniques
(root cause analysis)
o Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office
o Past performance working as a project manager a plus


Requirements:
o Management experience (Corporate Management experience is a bonus)
o Current CWI Certification
o Current Level II NDT Certification
o Experienced RT, UT, VT, PT, and MT Inspector, certifications in these areas
is a plus
o Previous Quality Control Management experience within Power Plants, Oil
Refinery, Pulp, Paper and Chemical atmospheres is required

Educational/Experience Requirements
o 4 year degree in related field and 4 plus years corporate quality control
management experience
o 4 year degree in related field and 8 plus years field quality control
management experience
o Associate of Applied Science and 10 years quality control management
experience
o 20 years quality control experience, to include 10 years quality control
management
