The Quality Control Manager is responsible for administering the company Quality Control system in accordance with the company and customer requirements. Specific job responsibilities for Quality Control are given below.

A. RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for controlling product quality throughout the manufacturing process.
• Responsible for developing, maintaining and implementing the company’s written practice for training, testing and qualification of inspectors in accordance with SNT-TC-1A.
• Responsible for training in-house quality inspectors for certification.
• Responsible for developing and maintaining all in-house inspector training and certification files.
• Responsible for developing, approving, maintaining and implementing in-house NDE procedures.
• Responsible for managing and providing guidance to the quality control engineers and inspectors.
• Responsible for interfacing with and scheduling third party inspectors as required per contract.
• Responsible for establishing and maintaining the calibration records for welding and measuring equipment. This would also include any other equipment that is critical to the quality of products produced.
• Responsible for negotiating and managing subcontract inspection companies.
• Responsible for documenting and tracking product quality as it relates to manufacturing on a quarterly basis. This would include as a minimum, welding and machining acceptance rates.

B. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

• The Quality Control Manager reports to the General Manager and has a support responsibility to the other Departmental Managers reporting the General Manager.


Skills:
C. EDUCATION AND TRAINING

• The Quality Control Manager should have a four-year technical degree or a combination of college credit hours and experience, preferably in a field that offers a diverse background. Additional class time in management courses and problem solving techniques such as Statistical Quality and Process Control is a plus.

D. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must have at least five years of broad technical experience, of which at least three years should be in quality administration and/or quality engineering.
• Prefer ASNT Level III certification in at least two disciplines.
• Must have a good understanding of machining and welding processes used in the manufacturing process.
• Must have a good understanding of all NDE processes used in the manufacturing process.
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have good computer skills and knowledge of computer software (Windows, Word, Excel, Etc.).
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) is a plus.

E. MANAGERIAL EXPERIENCE

• At least five years experience in managing technical personnel and complex activities. These experiences should be gained in areas of quality systems & procedures, manufacturing or technical operations and should include a minimum of two years in quality management
