The goal of the Reliability Centered Maintenance Group is to achieve higher
equipment availability and lower maintenance costs through predictive
maintenance technologies. This goal is realized by regularly scheduled
monitoring of equipment with predictive technologies and coordinating the
necessary maintenance through teamwork with other maintenance and
operations personnel, including but not limited to supervision, planning,
engineering, and field personnel.

This position requires travel to other facilities and interaction with vendors,
contractors and company personnel; any and all business must be conducted in
a professional manner as a representative of Freeport McMoRan Copper & Gold.
This position requires a responsible, self-motivated person who is able to work
efficiently with minimal supervision. This position requires working in confined
spaces and tight corridors, as well as, working closely around moving, rotating,
electrically energized, and elevated equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
This position also includes other duties as may be assigned

•The Sr. RCM technicians monitor equipment ranging from the Smelter, SX/EW,
Rod Plant, Site Water System, Mine (Shovels, Drills, Haulage) to include outlying
areas.
•Vibration data collection and Analysis utilizing latest technologies (CSI)
•Utilization of current software to load, download, and analyze vibration route
data, as well as, build and update the associated databases (AP sets, alarm sets,
etc.)
•Perform alignments, including multiple coupling arrangements, multiple
equipment arrangements, sheave to sheave, using reverse dial indicator, Laser,
etc.
•Perform dual and single plane balancing
•Miscellaneous tooling work such as precision drilling and tapping to install
monitoring equipment, etc. Installation of vibration mounting pads,
transducers, etc
•Tracking and collection of bearings and other components
•Data collection, analysis and reporting utilizing the following technologies:

o vibration
o infrared thermography
o tribology
o non destructive testing (including UT and UE)
o motor test equipment

•Performs other duties as required
Skills:
•5 years hands-on mechanical / electrical maintenance repair / rebuild
experience with industrial equipment (pumps, motors, gearboxes, etc) that
includes:
o Working knowledge and understanding of moving and rotating equipment
such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, etc., from an operations and
maintenance perspective, mechanically and electrically.
o Proven ability to read, comprehend and apply information from technical
manuals and other reference materials.

•Previous RCM/PdM experience. To include one or more of the following:
o Certified Level One (or above) Vibration Analyst with minimum of 1 year
experience in mining/processing/smelting environment.
o Certified Level One (or above) in Ultrasonic Non-Destructive Testing with
minimum of 2 years experience in mining/processing/smelting environment
(Preferred).
o Certified Level Two (or above) Thermographer with minimum of 3 years
experience in mining/processing/smelting environment.
 Or possess Level One Thermographer AND Motor Testing skills
with at least 2 years experience in mining/processing/smelting environment.

•Ability to work in a team with a high regard for Quality and Environmental
concerns and with a strong commitment to Safety and Safe Production.
•Effective written, verbal, and communication skills to satisfy training, safety,
and electronic message transmission policies of the company.
•Demonstrated computer skills in Windows environment with experience in MS
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
•Demonstrate strong support to the RCM Program and its continual
development.
•Valid state driver's license.
•Satisfactory performance record (internal applicant, including work, safety, and
environmental performance).
•Demonstrate orientation to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks
accurately each time.
•Proven experience performing field alignment and balancing functions.
o Hands-on experience with laser alignment equipment, including sheave
alignment tools and shaft to shaft alignment tools.
o Hands on experience balancing of rotating equipment.

•Computer experience with current Machine Health Management Software
(internal applicant).
•Completed Arc Flash training, Confined Space training, and LOTOTO (internal
applicant).

Preferred Qualifications

•High School diploma/GED preferred
•Vibration experience/Certification
•Familiar with AMS Machinery Health Mgr. RBMWare / CSI Software
•Experience in utilizing and maintaining CSI online vibration monitoring system.
•Experience with RCFA

Criteria/Conditions

•Work is performed in a mine or manufacturing plant which may include
exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts,
risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles.
•Work is performed in a 24 hour/day, 7 day/week, 365 day/year operation;
this position requires a person who is willing and able to work weekends,
holidays, rotating shifts and both scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
•While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit,
demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated
platforms, talk, hear and see.
•Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy to heavy objects (up to
50 pounds) during the course of the workday.
•Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, including hard
hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety foot wear, and as needed,
respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and other
protective equipment as required.
