Large aerospace manufacturer seeks a 2nd Shift Level II NDT Inspector to join their team in Santa Ana, CA. Must have directly related experience working with forgings and machined parts for an aerospace manufacturer.
Level 2:
Technicians are able to set up and calibrate equipment, conduct the inspection according to procedures and interpret and evaluate results as per applicable codes. The technician can also organize and document the results of the inspection. They must be familiar with all applicable codes, standards, and other documents that control the NDT method being utilized. The technician can provide on the job training for Level I and act as a supervisor.
Level 2:

Skills:
• Meets appropriate NDT skill level requirements (e.g. MT, PT, UT)
• Minimum 2+ years related experience
• Familiar with the scope and limitations of NDT techniques/method in which they are certified
• Must be familiar with codes, standards and other contractual documents that control the method used
• Metallurgy knowledge
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing methods
• Able to perform metallurgical examinations per specification and procedure
• Familiar with NDT equipment
• Strong attention to detail
• Mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Able to work from written or verbal instructions
• Working knowledge of measurement systems and use of inspection equipment: micrometer, caliper, comparator, hardness tester, automated inspection equipment
• Able to work independently as a problem solver and have the ability to finish projects in a timely manner
• Ability to enter data into automated system as required (e.g. MRP)
• Continuous improvement focus
• Excellent interpersonal skills; team player
