PRIMARY FUNCTION
Reporting to the Special Projects Coordinator, the Tape Wrap and Insulation Inspector shall perform Tape Wrap and Insulation inspections per BP Procedure. Inspector will work to inspect rehabilitated weld packs located on pipe lines which require insulation systems. The Tape and Insulation Inspector will also conduct other NDT inspections as deemed necessary by the SPR Coordinator.

Inspector will be trained by attending a local DHT, Metal and Banding training.

Hours of work: 11.5 hours per day (may be longer as conditions demand), 7 days per week on a rotational schedule (3x3). Pay is hourly, subject to straight time and overtime. Employees are responsible for travel costs to Anchorage or Fairbanks, AK. Job is located in Prudhoe Bay Alaska.

• Write reports specific to repair needed and location of repairs and passes
• Enter data on excel work sheets
• Interact with Acuren, BP and contract personnel professionally

QUALIFICATIONS
Education
• High School diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE
Must Possess one of the following certifications:
• NDT VTII or VTIIr
• NACE Level I
• NACE Level II
• NACE Level III
• API 570

UT, MT, PT certification a plus.

• Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned tasks and interpret results of inspections
• Minimum of one or two years of experience on the North Slope preferred

Physical Requirements
• Carry RT equipment weighing up to 70lbs in one hand and utilizing handrails with other hand to climb flights of stairs safely as per BP and Acuren policy.
• Lifting of approx. 10 – 70 lbs with a rope using the hand over hand technique to lift equipment in a canvas bag up scaffold and ladders.
• Carry and effectively manipulate a 12 foot step ladder and extension ladder.
• Carry up to 70lbs while on normal and snowy or icy surfaces.
• Occasionally lift 70lbs above shoulder level for placement on work surface.
• Walk, climb on and maneuver on or around piping, supports and working in cramped conditions.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
• The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Work in both cold and hot climates.
