QUALITY INSPECTOR.

Job Description: Involved in monitoring code welding operations, checking incoming material to purchase orders and drawings for conformity to ASME Code requirements, inspecting and verifying product layouts and fit-ups meet print and Code requirements, and monitoring Code welding operations, job records, and calibration of test equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Perform internal and external inspections to determine or equipment meets the acceptance criteria of a specific code, standard or document.
2. Conduct inspections at First Article, in-process, in-coming and completes the final inspections.
3. Perform accurate mechanical, physical and visual inspection of raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies as per Inspection Plans and Specification Requirements.
4. Pay attention to detail and be capable of recommending and approving repairs as well as performing visual inspection of completed work.
5.Initiate Non-Conformance reports (Material Rejection Notices) as required.
6. Document and report inspection findings and results and monitors corrective actions to inspection findings.
7. Read and interpret specifications and part prints.
8. Ensure calibration and maintenance is performed on inspection equipment.
9. Perform material kit audits to insure accuracy and integrity of the kitting process.
10. Perform product identification and traceability activities, as required.
11. Work with other company personnel to resolve inspection questions. Communicate with project engineers to ensure schematics are in compliance with the final product.
12. Train staff in quality assurance techniques.
13. Document information on the computer in various databases and other internal programs; logs the assembly non-conformities and generates a report (NCR).
14.Maintain a positive relationship between client, facility and customer; and promote a positive attitude towards coworkers.


Skills:
Technical Skills:
•Must possess strong product knowledge of boiler system components and operation, ability to proficiently interpret technical drawings, documents, and specifications; and ability to apply ASME Boiler Code Standards.
•Must possess advanced knowledge of shop procedures, fabrication and welding processes and related quality standards.
•Strong communication skills to interface with company personnel to achieve optimal outcomes on manufacture of quality equipment are essential.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
•Technical software skills to keep accurate and easily accessible records: Quality Control software programs and systems; MS software (Word and Excel);and MS Outlook.
