Safety Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Safety Manager is a management position reporting to the managing director. The Safety Manager will be responsible for implementation and assurance of all Acuren safety policies and procedures, as well as, proactive initiatives targeted at the Segments risks. The Safety Manager will direct the work of all Segment, Regional, and site safety personnel (including the Radiation safety).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide safety guidance and leadership to Segment/Division management teams through one on one interactions, project planning meetings, and attendance in regular management meetings
• Conduct periodic management reviews with Segment/Division management to review Safety performance, workplans, incidents, policies/new procedures, etc.
• Tracking and reporting on all safety performance metrics for the segment including metrics to corporate and external parties (e.g., ISN).
• Direct the work of all safety personnel including, setting performance objectives, developing work plans and professional development plans, and completing performance reviews
• Analyze safety performance trends, incidents and audit results, and develop proactive initiatives to improve performance/lower risk.
• Participate in worker’s compensation case management by entering the case into the tracking system (Risxfacs) and participating in return to work planning and case management review conferences.

• Track and interpret state/local regulation and relevant standards, and ensure policies/procedures are updated accordingly
• Provide training and mentoring for safety personnel, trainers, as well as Acuren management.
• Perform safety audits of office (labs) and field locations, and provide written reports
• Interface with customers on procedures and outage performance, including planning and post-outage review meetings.
• Stay current on best practices by participating in "local", industry-related safety organizations or contractor groups in the pulp and paper, refinery or heavy industry field.
• Participate in incident investigations, including the preparation of final report documents.
• Prepare summary reports of safety performance (monthly, quarterly)
• Participate in the development and revision of all Acuren corporate safety policies/procedures.
• Meet with other safety managers and coordinators to establish best practices and align on procedures and policies throughout the company.

 Participate in corporate/cross-segment audits
