Production Supervisor – production machining, leadership, tier 1 & 2
A large growing tier one and two supplier of precision machined engine and power train components is looking for a Manufacturing Production Supervisor. This is a stable and well managed team orientated environment. They have many employees with 15 plus years working for the company. They offer good benefits and low contribution healthcare. The company has invested in new technology, software and equipment. They are busy launching new programs. This facility has around 150 associates with a desire for success.
We are searching for a Production Supervisor with 5 plus years of experience coordinating and leading highly skilled machinists. The Production Supervisor / Production Manager works with the production scheduler to plan and executive throughput to achieve customer satisfaction. Strong follow up skills and interaction with various departments to ensure quality and coordinate production as needed. This position will plan throughput, objectives and customer requirements. Interested candidates will need experience in machining. Knowledge of metal cutting, tooling and inspection techniques is needed. The supervisor will interview, hire, review, discipline, terminate, mentor, motivate and promote associates. Past experience maintaining production and employee records is also needed. Candidates who have experience using MRP/ERP software is preferred. Knowledge of Plexus materials management software is a plus. The ideal candidate will have managed 25 plus employees. Knowledge of continuous improvement or lead principles is highly desired. Strong problem solving skills and the ability to resolve bottlenecks and production issues is a must.
MUST HAVE: 5 years plus of Production Supervision in a machining environment, leading 25 or more associates. High volume production is a huge plus. Strong leadership skills and experience coordinating production is required. Candidates with a AS degree or continuing education in supervision are preferred.
