Overview

This position is for personnel with prior experience and certification as a Level II NDE examiner with an emphasis on ultrasonic testing utilizing Phased Array and TOFD technologies. Individuals will be responsible for independently conducting nondestructive examinations (NDE) for the purpose of assessing the condition of critical industrial components.

Industrial Considerations

Individuals should be willing to conduct assignments in an environment of less than favorable conditions including dirty or radiological environments; physically challenging conditions (heat, cold or physical activities such as climbing or carrying equipment); ability to maintain focus in hazardous industrial environments such as at heights, on scaffolds and picks, noisy locations, with operating machinery nearby or overhead and with dangerous activities occurring nearby (welding, grinding, flame cutting, excavations, overhead loads, etc.). Access to some facilities may require additional background and medical screening for security clearance and site access.

Skills:
Qualifications & Experience

Individuals considered for this position should have a high school diploma or equivalency with secondary education/training in the field of NDE. Individuals should have a sense for mechanical concepts and spatial relationships; should have an understanding of the basic physical NDE principles and processes; should understand or be educable in fundamental algebra and trigonometry; and able to read, comprehend and/or prepare technical specifications and procedures. Individuals must be able to provide verifiable documentation of no less than 48 months of industry related experience as a Level II NDE examiner. Individuals with an AS or BS degree in science, materials, engineering or other industry related field may be considered with no less than 24 months of verifiable experience as a Level II NDE examiner. All individuals must be able to secure Level II NDE certification in two (2) surface methods (MT and PT) and one (1) volumetric (UT) NDE method within the first month.
