Manager of NDE Services and Training Position:

Overview: This individual should have a well-rounded back ground in NDE/NDT in addition; some real world experience in aerospace and welding would be highly desirable, certifications are desirable but, not necessarily required. More importantly this person must have a strong business sense, with superior leadership and program management skills.

Accountabilities: Accountable for all NDE technicians and their training, corporate NDE related policies and procedures, overall marketing and equipment planning/purchasing. Able to accurately forecast, plan and account for NDE annual budget.

Environment: Typical office, shop floor and classroom/lab environment.

Physical Demands: Medium duty, with no lifting in excess of 40#. Frequent phone and computer use

Duties:

-Establish corporate wide standards and procedures ensuring all processes meet regulatory requirements and are in compliance.
-Complete analysis, design, development, implementation and mentoring for NDE training programs. Design and create curriculum for NDE technician training programs.
-Managing the NDE schedule per facilities needs on a corporate wide level.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree (Related Majors/Minors) in: business, sales, nondestructive testing, failure mode analysis, weld engineering, CWI, ASNT, aerospace engineering

Experience: 5 - 10 years’ experience managing, training, and leading an organization’s personnel involved in nondestructive testing, welding and/or fabrication. Should be a current or previous holder of NDE certifications in accordance to ASNT. 3 - 6 years sales experience utilizing entrepreneurial skills to develop marketing strategies and the creation of a detailed sales plan with successful execution.

Personal Qualities: Personal attributes would be having strong, communication qualities, dynamic public speaker, resourceful in breaking down road blocks and moving projects forward, good follow up practices.

Preferences: MBA in business management and having demonstrated leadership experience in similar size company. Additional experience in aerospace manufacturing and repair along with any auditing experience would be considered favorable.

Skills:
Skills: Strong understanding of nondestructive testing in all five methods (UT, MT, PT, RT, ET) with the ability to write policies and procedures in accordance to ASNT and FAA standards, as well as establish and maintain all training requirements and logs. Strong ability to lead/motivate and manage team members within the NDT group, proven program and project management skills, business financial understanding with capability of establishing and managing budgets.
