Operation Manager – machining, production management, planning, leadership
A long time well-known corporation is growing at their profitable division. They are in process of executing a long term strategic plan that is increasing market share and the customer base. This corporation was developed in 1940’s continuing to grow and expand. They offer great benefits, employee stock program, career growth and relocation assistance. This corporation has just expanded operations in 3 states. They are in process of growing their division in Pueblo, Colorado creating a solid opportunity for the Operation Manager to grow in their career. This plant is receiving additional machine tool capacity and new products as part of their growth plan. Our firm has made several successful placements of long term associates wit this company. Many of their employee have more the 15 years with the organization.
We are searching for a Operations Manager to plan, lead guide and direct the daily activities of the Pueblo operation. This is a 2 shift operation with a variety of CNC lathes, mills, chuckers, extrusion equipment and secondary equipment. We are searching or a technical manager with previous hands on machining skills, solid production planning and leadership skills. The Operations Manager will review cost estimates and plan the most efficient use of equipment, resources and materials. Interested candidates will need technical experience and strong understanding of feeds, speeds, cutting tools and machining methods. The ideal candidate will have the ability to coordinate production, engineering, maintenance and quality to resolve machining issues. The ability to communicate and debug machining issues is strongly preferred. The Operations Manger will communicate goals, objectives, continuous improvement activities and due dates to the associates while ensuring customer satisfaction. We are looking for candidates who have led the machining operations of a high mix, high and medium volume production operation. The position reports to a off-site director based out of their Midwest corporate facility.
We are searching or degreed candidates preferably with a technical degree and 8 years of manufacturing management experience. Strong planning skills and the ability to help resolve manufacturing challenges I needed. The Operations Manager must have good decision making skills and experience leading a machining operation with limited direction.
Candidates should be familiar with some of the following machining processes: CNC turning, CNC milling, CNC chuckers, dial / rotary transfer machining, production lathes, multi spindle lathes, screw machines, broaching, threading and drilling, metal forming, forging extrusion and hot / cold forming is a plus.
