Desert NDT, a nondestructive testing business for over 30 years, is looking for a Senior AutoCAD Technician in Houston, TX.

The Senior AutoCAD Technician supports the Integrity Management department with assigned AutoCAD projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide guidance, leadership, training and support to staff members providing AutoCAD services.
2. Lead development of standards and guidelines for AutoCAD services used throughout the department
3. Lead in maintaining and enforcing AutoCAD standards
4. Develop and maintain AutoCAD library of standard and typical details
5. Develop new processes and procedures relating to AutoCAD services
6. Resolve technical matters pertaining to all AutoCAD services
7. Collaborate on design matters with leadership
8. Provide technical leadership in the selection of new AutoCAD software and equipment
9. Provide technical leadership on major upgrade projects
10. Keep abreast of new technical methods and developments in AutoCAD services
11. Perform detailed Quality Assurance/Quality Control of AutoCAD products
12. Develop, implement and follow Quality Control procedures
13. Other duties as assigned
Skills:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1. Proven in-depth technical expertise in AutoCAD software, preferably AutoCAD 2012 or higher
2. Proficient in computer software programs, including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
3. Ability to work with functional groups and different level of employees throughout the organization to effectively and professionally achieve business results
4. Strong follow-up skills, ability to organize applicable department timelines and follow up with internal and external customers needs as needed
5. Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively
6. Strong organizational skills, ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast paced environment
7. Strong track record of building and maintaining solid relationships with both internal and external customers and vendors
8. Self-motivated, able to work both independently to complete tasks and respond to department requests as well as collaborating with others to utilize resources and knowledge in identifying high quality solutions
9. Experience in oil and gas field environment preferred but not required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK CONDITIONS
1. Standing, walking, sitting, lifting, crawling, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, visual acuity, accommodation and color vision
2. Moving, carrying and lifting objects in excess of 30 pounds
3. Be able to step up into vehicles or onto equipment
4. Working extended hours and standing for extended periods of time

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
2. Minimum 2 years of experience with AutoCAD, preferably 2012 or higher
