Sr. Manufacturing Engineer – 2-3 axis lathes, mills, new product launch, project management
A major well-known corporation is seeking at Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to join their world-class team. They have a state of the art highly automated manufacturing facility. The focus of this position is to manage new product launch projects developing robust processes on CNC machinery. We are searching for candidates with a technical Bachelors degree and 7 plus years of process development on 2-3 axis CNC lathes and mills. The Sr. Engineer will lead cross functional teams, work with vendors, manage the project and budget. This position will review designs, select machinery, work holding devices, cutting tools and program and CNC equipment. Knowledge of Fanuc and Mazatrol controls is a plus. Experience designing cutting tools, fixtures and process drawings is needed. The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer will create BOM’s, routings, tool lists, work instructions and process flow diagrams. Past experience justifying equipment, procuring fixtures, collets and chuck jaws and cutting tools. The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer will need experience calculating feeds & speeds, takt times, cycletimes, chip loads and run rates. Past experience leading teams involving engineering, CNC programmers, quality engineers, materials, purchasing and production. Knowledge of automated loading, unloading, and robotic systems is a plus. Automation is supported by a controls engineering. The ideal candidate will have good computer skills, MS Project software and the ability to program or approve programs on CNC lathes and mills.
MUST HAVE: a Bachelors degree and 7 years of experience launch new products, leading projects and processing 2 and 3 axis CNC lathes and mills. The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer will need design skills, strong cutting tool applications, processing, programming, project management and documentation skills. Knowledge of the machining of forgings is a plus.
