PRIMARY PURPOSE:

To provide leadership in the development of a new program in
Non-Destructive Test and Inspection (NDT/NDI) self-paced
manufacturing education program, with potential to serve as
lead instructor in newly developed NDT/NDI program in 2014-
15 academic year.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND TASKS:

Essential Functions


1. Provide leadership and input into the NDT/NDI
Program development process, including admissions
requirements, curriculum development, and cooperative
worksite placement. This includes working with the MATC
Program Director and an Advisory Board consisting of
Industry leaders who will assist in providing input into
program requirements and development.

2. Develop curriculum in new program for NDT as
prescribed by recommended practice SNT-TC-1A of the American
Society for Nondestructive Testing. Coursework includes but
not limited to technical report preparation, ultrasonic
inspection techniques, eddy current inspection techniques,
dye penetrant inspection techniques, magnetic particle
inspection techniques, radiographic inspection techniques
(both tube type and isotopic), X-ray film developing and
reading, and basic metallurgy. Multiple materials are used
in labs.

3. Act as a resource for academic and career planning
for students entering the program in Fall Term, 2014,
including assisting students with creating programs of study
to successfully enter and complete the NDT/NDI program.

4. Perform other essential duties and tasks specific to
each location, as assigned.

Marginal Job Functions

1. Cooperate with other College personnel to meet all
college requirements for new program development.
2. Teach courses in the MATC curriculum as demand and
qualifications permit.
Skills:
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Individuals must possess these knowledge, skills and
abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the
individual can perform the essential functions of the job,
with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other
combination of skills and abilities.

1. Broad knowledge in the field of Manufacturing
Technology

2. Knowledge of teaching and instruction of various
audiences and group dynamics.

3. Visual ability, corrected, to enable instructor to
observe, direct, and supervise students in classroom
situations.

4. Familiarity with and ability to operate or oversee
the operation of audio-visual equipment, including overhead
projectors, film, sound systems, video, television,
interactive video and audio equipment including computer
controlled mixed media presentations.

5. Ability to operate or oversee the operation of
computers and other written materials.

6. Ability to orally communicate effectively with
others, using the English language, with or without the use
of an interpreter.

7. Ability to communicate effectively in writing, using
the English language, with or without the use of auxiliary
aids or services.

8. Ability to review, understand and apply concepts
presented in training programs, conferences, and/or
professional literature.

9. Ability to work with MATC Administrators,
Instructors, Facilitators and other COCC staffs at all
levels.

10. Willingness to travel and/or work at various hours
and locations, as required.

11. Ability to work effectively and sensitively with
constituents from diverse cultural backgrounds and
perspectives.
