Duties & Responsibilities
OFFSHORE – 3 week rotation. Inspects offshore structures and vessels, and their
appurtenances, for conformance to specifications, using NDT, fixed or preset
measuring instruments; Travels offshore on vessels and in aircraft. Examines
materials or products for anomalies, damage, or defects, such as cracks, pits,
incomplete welds, holes, dents, excessive corrosion, etc. Examines coating
conditions. Records inspection and other statistical data and surveys offshore
structures, vessels and pipelines. Makes appropriate drawings and sketches to
supplement written data. Keeps inspection data organized. Uses computer and
various software applications to prepare, check and package various types of
inspection and survey reports.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Experience:
2+ years related experience and/or NDT training; or equivalent combination of
education and experience.
Skills:
Skills & Knowledge: NDT training, HUET/Safe Gulf, Basic computer knowledge in
MSWord and Excel. Must perform basic math skills with accuracy. Aptitude for
technical writing. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
