Provide metallurgical expertise to Fossil Generation and other Enterprise
facilities as required. Provide metallurgical consultation and assessment
for high temperature and pressure components for Fossil Stations and other
facilities on materials application, failure analysis, nondestructive
examination (NDE), welding technology, and use of Codes and Standards.
Provide evaluations, solutions, implementation plans, as well as corrective
actions for metallurgical problems, material codes and standards, failure
analysis, materials application (and weld engineering). Prepare technical
reports covering condition assessments, vendor technical capabilities and
repair procedures. Provide oversight of vendor supplied equipment and
services and take immediate action to resolve technical fabrication and
manufacturing issues. Be responsive to customers' calls within and outside
normal work hours. Candidate must possess extensive knowledge in the
application of austenitic stainless steel, low alloy steel and carbon steel;
extensive knowledge in the application of welding and NDE techniques;
American Society of Mechanical Engineers Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code;
and American National Standards Institute (ASNT) standards. Candidate must
possess a BS - Materials Engineering with five or more year's current,
relevant experience in welding and metallurgical technology/applications
including related analyses. Desirable: Experience in power plant
construction, maintenance and repair practices and PE license.
