Sr. Screw Machine Supervisor – Acme, Davenport, 1st shift, multi spindle
A long time contract manufacturer of precision machined components is searching for a Sr. Department Supervisor to lead their metal turning area. This is a friendly team orientated work environment and successfully managed company. They have many employees who have around 20 years with the company. Many other enjoyed a long career retiring from the organization. Their key to success is loyalty and communication with their valued employees. This department has several multi spindle screw machines, both Acme and Davenport. They also have CNC lathes. The ideal candidate will have leadership and hands on screw machine experience. Any knowledge of CNC lathes is a plus. The Sr. Supervisor will work from a production schedule, assign work, follow up on production, resolve problems, allocate resources and focus on producing quality parts on time. We are searching for candidates that can continue building teams and have good people skills. This position will be involved in continuous improvement activities to reduce set up time, cycle time and tooling cost. Previous experience on either Acme or Davenport automatic screw machines is required. The Sr. Supervisor will need the ability to resolve machine set up, tooling and machining issues. This Sr. Supervisor strives to ensure set up times and run rates. Past experience leading, guiding, coaching, training and motivating others is needed. Our client runs a 4/10 work week running any overtime on Fridays. The Sr. Supervisor will lead around 20 skilled machinists responsible for hiring, training, disciplining, reviewing and motivating the department’s associates.
MUST HAVE: a minimum of 3 years of production supervision within a screw machine environment. Good team building and problem solving skills is needed. Any knowledge of CNC lathes is a plus.
