Radiation Safety Officer (RSO)

ATS is currently seeking a RSO for the Raleigh, NC branch office.

Responsibilities:

• The RSO will be responsible for the radiation safety program and all radioactive material being used by ATS in the state of North Carolina.
• The RSO will be the ATS representative to the state on all matters regarding radioactive material.
• The RSO will also act as a senior radiographer and be able to perform Level II radiographer functions in the field.
• Travel to customer's industrial or construction work sites.
• Set up and utilize the required equipment.
• Maintain and report test results.
• Complete reports and documentation as required.
• Participate in ATS and Client safety programs.
Skills:
Minimum Requirements:

• Over 2000 hours experience as a certified radiographer
• Radiation Safety Office administrative or maintenance training preferred but not necessary. ATS will provide RSO training to a superior candidate.
• Certified or certifiable to Level II in RT.
• Other NDT certifications such as MT, PT, UT, VT, ET, CWI are preferred but not required.
• Ability to pass challenging general, specific, and practical exams in order to attain NDT certifications with ATS.
• Willingness and ability to work at Government Installments, Nuclear Power Plants, Chemical Facilities, Pulp and Paper Mills, etc.
• Willingness and ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, outdoors, and at lab, manufacturing and industrial sites.
• Willingness and ability to travel, work odd hours, work over time, work varying hours and a varying schedule.
• Candidates with a Military background or technical degree in NDT are desirable
• Good communication skills.
• Computer literacy.
• HS Diploma or GED.
• All candidates are required to have a valid e-mail address that they check often.
• All candidates are required to pass pre-hire and random drug tests.
• All candidates are required to pass pre-hire background checks.
• All candidates are required to have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
• Overtime required especially in spring and fall.
