Warren Averett is seeking an ASNT Level II certified
individual for a position located in Annuhac, Tx with an
Engineering firm based out of Houston, Tx.
The job pay is based on experience offers per diem as well.
An incumbent will work with experienced engineers and
specialists on consulting projects and develop the skills
needed to manage engineering tasks and projects while in the
field. Incumbent will multitask in a fast paced environment
with limited supervision. Incumbent will have detailed
expertise as it relates to integrity management field
services and will possess advanced certifications and skill
sets relating to the position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Successful incumbent will work with project managers and
will follow existing analysis procedures related to
specialized field work, working with pipeline inspection
data in spreadsheet format. Incumbent will:
Use GPS equipment to locate anomalies
Work with dig crews in excavating sites to
locate the correct pipe spool, oversee peeling back the
coating, and taking anomaly measurements
Utilize NDT to measure identified defects and
provides a report of the dig measurements against ILI data
Perform field surveys and cathodic protection
readings.
Understand ILI tool specifications and
accuracies
Inspect pipeline coatings
Understand pipeline HVAC induced interference
Understand ILI inspection hardware and
software
Conduct inspections including two or more of
the following type: ultrasonic, magnetic particle, liquid
penetrant or phased array UT
Understand repair technologies
Willingness to travel. Travel assignments can
be from several days to several weeks (work at clients work
site).
This position will require interactions with clients and
prospective clients out in the field. Incumbent will
conduct tasks without supervision as part of a larger
project. He/she will exercise advanced skill sets in one or
more technical areas related to pipeline integrity.
Interaction with other departments is expected when needed.
Qualifications
Education:
Strong English speaking and writing skills are
required
Basic understanding of corrosion control,
protective coatings and cathodic protection
Professional Experience:
Licenses, Certifications, Credentials, or Other
Requirements:
ASNT or CGSB Level II UT
ASNT or CGSB Level II MPI
NACE Cathodic Protection Level II
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Position requires excellent and advanced technical skills in
one or more of the following areas:
Cathodic Protection Design
External Corrosion Pipeline Surveys
Ability to handle field survey equipment,
troubleshooting, good writing and record keeping
Ability to work in a safety oriented and high
stress outdoor environment required
Must be self-motivated, and be able to work
independently
Ability to read prints and find inspection
locations
Materials Engineering (familiarity with carbon
steels is a plus)
Non Destructive Testing or a related area
Experience or familiarity with transmission
pipelines or pressure vessel technologies Experience with
Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
