Title of Position:
RotoScan/Automated Ultrasonic Technicians

Job Duties:
The RotoScan AUT Operator must accurately, reliably and consistently be able to interpret the ultrasonic test results to project procedures, standards and code requirements. This entails manipulating the variables for the ultrasonic device such that an acceptable calibration can be obtained. Once a successful calibration is obtained the pipeline girth weld is scanned. Using pattern recognition and comparison of signals to those obtained in the calibration the RotoScan Operator must successfully interpret these results. This cycle of calibration and weld scan needs to be done with efficiency and accuracy to successfully keep up with the daily production.

Terms of Employment:
Permanent, Full-time

Wage:
Applus RTD follows a collective agreement. The rate is $46.55 per straight time hour. Overtime shall be paid for under the following provisions:
Monday through Friday – Time and one-half (1.5x) shall be paid for the first two (2) hours with double-time (2x) thereafter.
Saturday – Time and one-half (1.5x) shall be paid for the first ten (10) hours with double-time thereafter.
Sunday and Recognized Holidays – Double-time (2x) shall be pad for all hours worked.

Vacation Pay – 10% of gross earnings.

Hours of Work – 6 days per week, 11 hours per day = 66 hours.

Accommodation – Hotel is provided plus Meal Allowance of $52.00 per day.

Alberta - Edmonton, Camrose, Hardisty, Wainwright, Fort Saskatchewan and Boyle





Skill Requirements:
• Knowledge of Advanced UT, TOFD and Phased Array.
• Detail oriented with a dedication to the quality control and quality assurance process.
• Ability to communicate and cooperate with diverse groups of people.
• Demonstrates verbal and written communication skills as well as basic computer skills.

Education:
• CAN/CGSB 48.9712-2006 Ultrasonic Level II (or Level III) Course
• CAN/CGSB 48.9712-2006 Magnetic Particle Level II (or Level III) Course


Work Experience:
• Previous Shearwave, TOFD or Phased Array experience or experience with other AUT systems will be beneficial. PCN Certification would be acceptable.
