We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Manufacturing Engineer (17770BR) in our Nuclear Fuel product line located in Columbia, SC.

Nuclear Fuel – Delivering innovation and reliable nuclear fuel products and services

In this position, a Principal Manufacturing Engineer can expect to be responsible for the following:

1. Assume lead technical responsibility for development and administration of one of more major manufacturing programs, systems or activities. This includes specification of new processes and designs, as well as, development, installation, and qualification of new equipment.
2. Take leadership role in coordinating efforts of interfacing departments to effectively implement project scope, schedule, and capital spending targets.
3. Analyze and recommend utilization of technological innovations in material, machinery, manufacturing, and chemical processing techniques to solve complex manufacturing problems.
4. Analyze and make proposals, renew business opportunities and implement strategic plans.
5. Provide leadership in determining solutions to complex chemical, mechanical, or regulatory area problems. Provide direction and assume project management responsibility both inside and outside department lines.
6. Identify and recommend improvements where established technology components and methodology are inadequate. Seek new approaches to problems and new applications of existing engineering or scientific principles.
7. Evaluate the results of programs and prepare reports and recommendations based on these evaluations.
8. Prepare plans, schedules, budgets, and personnel requirements for solving major engineering or scientific tasks identified by management. Initiate, direct, and perform work required to solve these tasks.
9. Maintain technical awareness in advancements of engineering technology in specific area or field.
Skills:
The successful candidate for this position will possess the following:

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
- Minimum five years, but typically up to ten or more years, of applicable engineering experience is required.
- Manufacturing experience is required.
- Knowledge of various NDE disciplines is required.
- Nondestructive examination Level III preferred.
- Practical Problem Solving.
- Technical writing.
- Quality Assurance background preferred.
