Manufacturing Engineer – screw machine, production machining, industrial products

A growing division of a corporation located south of Grand Rapids continues to hire and expand. We are searching for a Manufacturing Engineer with production turning and multi spindle screw machine experience. Our client has a well managed, stable and consistent manufacturing operation with many long term team members. The Manufacturing Engineer will need 5 years of engineering experience processing production machining equipment and automatic screw machine experience. Our client will consider either degreed or on the job experience. Past experience developing cost estimates, designing cutting tools, creating tool layouts, tool lists and work instructions. Experience using CAD software to create drawings is a must. Knowledge of designing and/or specifying form, shave, recess, chamfer, step drills, reamers, cut off, thread rolls and other special cutting tools. The Manufacturing Engineer will also specify cams, gears, collets and machine attachments. Candidates will need experience developing processes for a wide variety of materials. Past experience working with tool and replacement part vendors is needed. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to support the shop floor is also needed. The ideal candidate will have experience processing Acme Gridley and Davenport screw machines. Experience processing CNC machine tools, rotary transfer machines and secondary equipment is a plus.

MUST HAVE: 5 years plus of processing and tooling automatic screw machines. Knowledge of CAD software and experience designing special cutting tools is required. Degreed or non degreed candidates will be considered. Degrees are preferred, however, will consider heavy on the job experience. Knowledge of National Acme and Davenport multiple spindle screw machines is preferred, but not required. Candidates who have processed New Britain, Conematic, Greenlee, Index, Schutte, Wickman, Tornos or other brands of screw machines will be considered. Our client will also provide a relocation package to candidates willing to move closer to their facility.
