Position Summary:

As a Quality Engineer, you will have a key role in establishing and implementing quality-related processes in Alta Vista. You will bring in valuable knowledge of national and international standards and practices and will be involved in writing procedures, performing audits, process development and reviews, and more all of which give you the best opportunity to learn business practices and processes.

Job Duties:

•Review of applicable quality and performance standards and making recommendations for performance improvements
•Devise and establish quality procedures, standards, and specifications in conjunction with operating staff
•Develop and implement performance metrics
•Look at ways to reduce waste and increase efficiency
•Set up and maintain controls and documentation procedures
•Monitor performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports
•Make suggestions for changes and improvements and how to implement them
•Use relevant quality tools and make sure managers and other staff understand how to improve the business
Skills:
Skills & Abilities:

•Knowledge of and experience in quality management systems including Baldrige Performance Excellence Criteria and ISO 9001
•Knowledge of and experience in business process development and optimization
•Effective written, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team involving staff, clients and outside agencies
•Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel (macros/pivot table experience) and Power point
•Proven self-motivated, professional, team player
•Strong problem-solving skills, including identifying data quality issues
•Strong organizational skills, including an ability to prioritize activities and work with limited supervision
•Critically thorough with attention to details is a must
•Results oriented and able to complete tasks on deadline with little supervision
•Ability to make good decisions using sound, professional judgment

Minimum Qualifications:

•BS with engineering major. Other majors with adequate experience acceptable.
•5 years of professional responsibility
•Demonstrated ability to work with documentation
•Prior responsible work with Quality-related activities
