Perform non-destructive evaluations of hardware to approved techniques using Magnetic Particle (MT), Ultrasonic (UT), and Visual (VT) Inspection.
Applicants that have just MT and UT can be considered.
The primary position responsibilities are to provide MT, UT, VT Inspections where needed and secondarily dimensional inspections as may be required.
Other NDE methods such as RT, PT and CT are a plus for this position but not required.
This position supports the SLS test facility structural steel and stainless steel piping build-up to test NASA’s new SLS rocket hardware to support NASA’s mission to Mars. Other NASA test projects and functions on the contract at MSFC are to also be supported. Perform daily operation of NDE systems related to the NDE methods listed above, including; execution of inspection plans; interpretation of inspection data; and completion and archival of inspection data and quality records.

Skills:
Education: Minimum of at least an Associate's degree in engineering, math or science. A Bachelor's in engineering, math or science is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 Years' NDE experience preferably in a welding or weld inspection environment.
Current certification is required to ASNT in the above stated NDE required techniques / methods to at least a Level II. Although NAS 410 certification is not required it is a plus.
Microsoft familiarity and computer literate
Physically able to lift 40 pounds
Must be a US Citizen
Must have driver's license
Experience: Minimum of 5 Years' NDE experience preferably in a welding or weld inspection environment.
