Job Summary

650296- The Radiography/NDE Lab has opportunities for entry level or early career technologists in the industrial radiography test field. Training and mentoring will be provided to ensure the success of the candidate for this position. Responsibilities will include the application of non-destructive evaluation (NDE) technologies with primary emphasis in industrial radiographic technologies (computed tomography, digital radiography, and computed radiography). These techniques are used in our lab to characterize/visualize internal component defects/flaws/anomalies/features, characterize material properties, analyze failures, etc. Responsibilities will also include facility operations, performing preventative, routine, and corrective maintenance for numerous systems, and general lab maintenance. This position will require work with explosives, radiation, classified material/documents/electronic media, and other operational responsibilities. Candidates for this position should have a strong technical background. This position does require occasional travel, the ability to work with hazardous materials and classified materials.

650297-The Radiography/NDE Lab has opportunities for experienced technologists in the industrial radiography test field. Responsibilities will include the application of non-destructive evaluation (NDE) technologies with primary emphasis in industrial radiographic technologies (computed tomography, digital radiography, computed radiography, DICONDE compliant software, and accelerator-based x-ray machines ≥ 4 MeV). These techniques are used in our lab to characterize/visualize internal component defects/flaws/anomalies/features, characterize material properties, analyze failures, etc. In addition to applications, responsibilities will include technique development with primary emphasis on digital radiography (DR) and computed tomography (CT) and support of research efforts by technical staff. Responsibilities will also include facility operations, performing preventative, routine, and corrective maintenance for numerous systems, facility oversight and general lab maintenance. The work will require a strong knowledge of the Volume Graphics™ software package. This position will require work with explosives, radiation, classified material/documents/electronic media, and other operational responsibilities (CWS, MBA and EIS). Candidates for this position should have a strong technical background and aptitude for NDE data acquisition, analysis and processing with state of the art DR/CT equipment. Additional responsibilities that are shared with other facility personnel are creating and maintaining safety documentation and Technical Work Documents. This position does require occasional travel
