Beacon Industries (Newington, CT) is looking for an energetic and team-oriented Level 2 or 3 Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Inspector to support its manufacturing operations. The person in this role is responsible for processing and inspecting of critical engine components through Fluorescent Penetrant (FPI), Magnetic Particle (MPI) and Nital Etch processes.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains thorough knowledge of principles, procedures, techniques, operations, applications and specifications as they pertain to Beacon Industries and customer requirements
Applies proper agents such as cleaners, penetrants and developers to part to prepare of testing
Performs Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) and Nital Etch testing operations in accordance with procedure, process and specifications identifying and marking discontinuities.
Reviews and determines acceptance of all products as per customer requirements
Work with responsible Level III to establish technique sheets for operations; Level II may write procedures, which must be approved by responsible Level III
Review all processing certifications to meet customer specifications
Perform required checks of equipment; ensure all gauging and measuring equipment is in properly calibrated
Conducts internal auditing of special process areas to assure conformance to requirements
Generates and completes all required documentation to ensure compliance of Quality Systems; Records all information in logbook.
Maintain safe, secure and healthy environment by adhering to Company/Customer safety standards and practices and to legal regulations, alerting others regarding potential hazards or concerns. Wear all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Skills:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)
High School Diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred
2+ years of Aerospace Level II NDT Inspection Experience in FPI and MPI
Previous experience as a Level 1 MPI or FPI can be considered for lower level position
Experience in Nital Etch process is highly desirable
Ability to write and prepare tech plans
Experience interpreting technical drawings and specs
Knowledge and understanding of AS9100 quality systems standards
Basic computer skills, and ability to use MS Office
