We are currently accepting resumes for a NDE Level I – Rope Access:

POSITION SUMMARY: While working under the supervision of a Rope Access III Team Leader, and within the scope of a written Safe Work Plan (aka Job Hazard Analysis), the NDE I - RA carries out a wide variety of inspection activities. Almost universally, the NDE I - RA uses ropes and related equipment to access and complete work tasks at considerable height. The Technician may also participate in rescue operations, administrative tasks, and customer support. Safety, integrity, technical capabilities, customer service, and an ability to function effectively in a team environment are essential.

The NDE Level I – Rope Access will primarily be performing ATRT inspection activities of susceptible locations for the detection and quantification of moisture ingress and/or corrosion under insulation (CUI). Evaluation of moisture content and corrosion damage would be quantified and reported. The NDE Level I may also perform and/or assist with layout and other NDE inspection techniques as needed.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:

• Perform required NDE of inspections areas as directed by the Mistras Inspector or Mistras Crew Lead.
• Assist Mistras Inspector and/or NDE Level II with identification and layout of inspection locations in accordance with written procedures.
• Complete assigned inspections in a timely manner to ensure compliance with schedule.
• Immediately report equipment malfunctions/damage to supervisor and/or MTE.
• Perform all duties in accordance with applicable Mistras and clients safety requirements.
• Flawless adherence to company and client procedures and policies.
• Adheres to MISTRAS Rope Access procedures for all rope access projects.
• Ensure that Quality of assigned work is performed to the highest level for all area of control.
• Perform all duties in accordance with applicable Mistras and clients safety requirements.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned and as outlined in company policies, procedures, and directed work practices.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• The NDE Level I must be certified as Level I RT.
• Assistant Radiographer in Radiation Safety Program (40hr Radiation Safety Training).
• Must be a self-starter, with strong work ethic.
• Able to secure homeland security clearance for Trustworthy and Reliable (T&R).
• Maintains certification as a SPRAT or IRATA Rope Access Technician.
• Maintain, and be able to provide on the worksite, an up-to-date Rope Access Certification Card or Course Evaluation Form and up-to-date Logbook demonstrating last date worked—this is considered a condition to work.
• Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or
equivalent.
• Must be a self-starter, with strong work ethic.
• Valid driver’s license.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Frequent lifting up to 75 lbs.
• Limits of equipment cannot hold between 130 and 285 pounds.
• Capable of carrying out strenuous, repetitive, or tedious work often in adverse conditions (heat, cold, wind, extreme height, darkness, etc.) and often for extended periods of time.
• Work tasks can be particularly stressful to fingers, hands, wrists, elbows, shoulders, neck and spine.
• Repetitive hand and finger manipulation tasks, most often while wearing protective gloves.
• Repetitive use of hips, knees, ankles, and feet while operating rope systems, using industrial ladders, or moving around work sites.

We are seeking candidates that are willing to make a minimum 1-2 year commitment. This is a FULLTIME position with benefits. We are not seeking short term contractors. You are responsible for travel costs to and from Anchorage or Fairbanks, AK.
