SUMMARY OF WORK EXPERIENCE
Experience in In-service Inspection of Petroleum refinery, Gas plant, Petrochemical units. Both cladded and uncladded Pressure vessels, heat exchangers, heaters, Flares, process piping, utility piping, storage tanks, structures and Lifting appliance, lifting gears etc., of petrochemical plants, power plants. Familiar with all techniques used in the inspection and repair of refinery equipment including heat exchangers, columns, vessels, furnaces, boilers, tanks, flares and piping.
Plant inspection: Carry out on-stream condition monitoring of plants and QA/QC of all maintenance activities to ensure safe and reliable operations. Conduct internal, external planned & unplanned inspections on all static equipments/facilities. Coordinate with NDT group after determining the appropriate NDT method applicable to assess the equipment condition. Issue inspection work sheets with repair procedures and testing requirement confirming to Approved welding procedures which are made in line with the Engineering Stds. & International Stds. Maintain inspection files, keep records up-to-date. Identify the type of corrosion/deterioration to the equipment or piping & initiate appropriate monitoring methods in consultation with Process & Corrosion Groups. Coordinate with all concerned on daily basis and attend Operations, Maintenance & Engineering (OME) group meetings. Anticipate equipment and piping retirements and initiate appropriate steps of renewal. Prepare job lists of shutdown testing and inspection (T&I) requirements for all equipments and piping circuits and participate to finalize the T&I scope of work including materials requirements. Work with minimum supervision following all company safety procedures, standards and regulations.

Welding Inspection: Interfaces with vendors and manufacturers regarding welding activities. Reviews and prepares welding standards and specifications. Familiar with all common welding processes like SMAW, GTAW, SAW, GMAW. Familiar with range of materials including carbon steel, low alloy steels, stainless steels, and nickel-based alloys Develops studies and investigations for introduction of new state-of-art welding technology, including evaluation of contractor processes and equipment, and evaluation of materials fabrication issues. Reviews and approves contractor welding procedures. Provides mentoring for less experienced welding engineers. Develops welding procedures for repairs to vessels, exchangers, piping, and other equipment.

Painting Inspection: Carry out painting inspection of surface preparation and coating inspection (wet film, dry film) with various coating systems on pressure vessels, piping, storage tanks and structures.

Non Destructive Testing: Full understanding of different NDT methods and their application of equipment and piping monitoring and inspection. Coordinate with NDT group after determining the appropriate NDT method applicable to assess the equipment condition. Carried out Interpretation of Radiographic films, Ultrasonic flaw detection & thickness survey, Magnetic particle testing, Dye Penetrant testing, visual testing, leak testing and Alternating Current Field Measurement testing (ACFM). Conduct NDT training programmes for the trainees in line with ASNT SNT-TC-1A to Level-I & II. Reviews and prepares NDT procedures for company use and contractors.

Lifting Equipment Inspection: Inspection carried on various Lifting gears, equipments like shackle, wire rope sling, chain sling, Davits, lifting beams, spreader beams, baskets, power and manually operated chain block, lever hoist winches of various types, mobile cranes, crawler cranes, EOT cranes, Lorry loaders and forklifts as per international standard / LOLLER.

ISO 9002: Carried out internal auditing to make sure that the activities are meeting the company’s quality.

Computer Proficiency: Well versed with the use of computer for office use and feeding inspection data.
